Mr. Alan Ray Campbell, age 74, of Bethlehem, Georgia passed away April 12, 2023 at his residence.
He was born in St. Petersburg, Florida and raised in Jonesville, Virginia. He was a son of the late Walter and Grace McConnell Campbell-Spencer and was preceded in death by his brother, Larry Campbell. He was a six-year United States Navy Veteran (1970-1976), spending his last two years of enlistment on the USS Saratoga Aircraft Carrier. He was an Electronics Technician working for RCA until he started his own business called Camtron Electronics.
Surviving are: former Wife, Harriett Campbell of Bethlehem, Georgia; Three Sons, Michael and Debbie Campbell of Auburn, Georgia; Danny and Nanette Campbell of Loganville, Georgia and David and Heather Campbell of Freeport, Florida; Four Grandchildren, Matthew Campbell, Courtney & Joshua Boone, Elly Campbell, Josie Campbell and one soon-to-be Great Grandson, Caleb Daniel Boone; Three Sisters, Mary Wallen of Morristown, Tennessee, Ann Roberts and Beverly Jackson both of Jefferson, Georgia.
Alan was known as “Pappy” by his grandchildren whom he loved dearly. He spent his retirement researching his family history and visited many sites in different states cataloging his ancestry. He was loved by many family and friends who will miss him.
The Family will receive friends on Sunday, April 16, 2023 from 3:00 P. M. until 4:00 P. M. at Carter Funeral Home. A Memorial Service with Military Honors followed by a bagpiper will be held Sunday, April 16, 2023 at 4:00 P. M. from the Chapel of Carter Funeral Home.
