Gary Carlyle

Rev. Gary Carlyle, age 80, of Hoschton, Georgia passed away May 9, 2024 at his residence. A native of Gwinnett County, he had resided in Barrow County for most of his life. Gary was a son of the late Robinson and Minnie Parker Carlyle. He was preceded by his daughter, Carla Shaw and son-in-law Shannon Shaw. Rev. Carlyle had pastored several area churches and was a retired brick mason. He was a member of Mulberry Baptist Church.

Surviving are his wife of sixty years, Betty McDougald Carlyle, daughters, Sheila (Gilford) Stovall and Joyce Watkins, all of Hoschton, brother, Rev. Everest Carlyle, five grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.

The Family will receive friends Sunday, May 12, 2024 from 4:00 P. M. until 8:00 P. M. at Carter Funeral Home. A Funeral Service will be held Monday, May 13, 2024 at 2:00 P. M. from the Mulberry Baptist Church with Rev. Carl Helton and Rev. Kenneth Parker officiating. The remains will be placed in state at the church at 1:00 P. M. Monday. Interment will be in Mulberry Baptist Church Cemetery with Rev. Alan Passmore officiating.
