Heather Ridley Zarate

October 23, 1947 — October 23, 2021

Heather Mae Zarate passed away at NorthEast Georgia Braselton Hospital, surrounded by her family, who loved her dearly on her 74th birthday, October 23, 2021.
She was born and raised in Brownsville, Texas, to Stanley and Floy Belle Ridley and had a brother Robin Ridley. She attended Villa Maria, a private Catholic school. She was a spirit-filled Christian, loved reading her bible, and sharing the good word of Christ with others. She married her husband and high school sweetheart Emilio Enrique Zarate on February 03, 1968, in Houston, Texas, and they had two children Susana and Andrew. She devoted her entire life to her family and helped raise her twin grandsons. She had a vivacious sense of humor, an outgoing personality, and always used funny old-fashion expressions. She was strong, caring, fun, and a very hardworking stay-at-home mom who ensured her family was well taken care of and always had the best. She was a wonderful wife, mom, granny, sister, and friend, and words cannot describe how much she will be missed.

Heather is survived by her husband of 53 years, Emilio, brother Robin, two children Susana and Andrew, daughter-in-law Julia, and five grandchildren Emily, Ian, Blake, Kinsley, and Kayden. She was cremated, and her funeral services will be private and held by her close family in Texas.

Her favorite Bible verse is Psalm 23:
The LORD is my shepherd; I shall not want.
He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: he leadeth me beside the still waters.
He restoreth my soul: he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name's sake.
Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me.
Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies: thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over.
Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the LORD forever.

Carter Funeral Home, Winder, is entrusted with the arrangements.
