J. H. "Benny" Summerour

Mr. J. H. "Benny" Summerour, age 91, of Winder, Georgia died October 29, 2011. A native and lifelong resident of Barrow County, he was a son of the late George William and Jessie Lee Caldwell Summerour. Mr. Summerour was the owner of G. W. Summerour Furniture Manufacturing Company of Winder, and was a member of The Winder First United Methodist Church. Surviving are Wife, Elaine Outzs Summerour, Children, Terry Rice, Tina & David Smith all of Winder, Step-Sons & Daughters-in-law, Jimmy & Judy Griffith of Winder, Steve & Linda Griffith of Roswell, Step-Daughter & Son-in-law – Alison & John Bruss of Monroe, Brother-in-law & Sister-in-law –Buddy & Carol Outzs of Winder, Grandchildren, Maj. Bo & Mandy Rice of Council Bluff, Iowa, Drs. Trent & Sarah Rice of Nashville, Tennessee, Traci & Brett Williams of Dallas, Georgia, Mandy & Reid Lipscomb of Farmington, Jeb Smith of Athens and Seven Great Grandchildren. The Family will receive friends Monday, October 31, 2011 from 5-7 P. M. at Carter Funeral Home. No services are planned at this time. The Family requests that flowers please be omitted and that memorials be made to The Winder First United Methodist Church, Willie M. Sewell Library Fund, 280 North Broad Street, Winder, Georgia 30680.
