James "Bud" Virgil Hylton, entered into eternal rest Friday, September 18, 2026, peacefully at his residence surrounded by family and friends.  

Services will be private.

Mr. Hylton was born June 16, 1945 in Wise County, Virginia to the late James Tate Hylton & Cynthia Church. He was a warehouse worker for Publix and served his country honorably in the United States Army. Mr. Hylton loved his camping, The Eagles but most of all his family.

Mr. Hylton is survived by his wife, Gloria Hylton of Winder; children, Henry Dodd & Clara of Winder, Sarah Williamson & Richard of Royston, Mary Franklin of Winder, Jane Wilson & Chris of Winder, Julie Moore & Coy of Coxburn, Virginia, Mack Hylton & Elisha of Virginia, and Jayne McClanahan & Cody of Clintwood, Virginia; siblings, Jerry Hylton & Jenny of Wise, Virginia, Barbara Turnmyre of Jenkins, Kentucky; special friend, Jimmy Price & Michelle. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by siblings, Eunice Clark, Joe Hylton, and Roger Johnson and a grandson, Dustin Scarbro.  

Maddox Memorial Home, Winder, is entrusted with all arrangement.
