Mr. James (Jamie) Wardrop, age 58 of Winder, passed away peacefully on Monday, May 22, 2023.
Born in Scotland on July 20, 1964, Jamie discovered his love of dance and entertaining others early on. He had an undeniable, natural talent and began his dance training at a young age. Jamie danced on cruise
ships and throughout the world, including performing for the late Queen Elizabeth at the Royal Palladian performance. Settling back here in the states, he and his life partner, Jeff (married in 2013), co-owned & co-directed Dance Arts Centre in Gwinnett County for over 2 decades. Here they became award winning, nationally recognized choreographers and dance teachers. For the last 24 years as Director of Dance Arts Centre, he has had a tremendous impact on the lives of innumerable dancers and their families. He will forever be remembered and cherished for his contributions to dance, larger than life personality, beautiful costume designs, and love of all animals.
Jamie is preceded in death by his beloved husband, Jeffery Boss, and parents, William and Mary Wardrop.
He is survived by his family in Scotland, brothers, Sandy and Billy, sisters-in-law, Ann and Sharon, niece & nephews. He will fondly be remembered by his family, as the number 1 son James, fun-loving albeit dramatic. Jamie will also be missed by his 2 bulldogs, Hugo & Jeff.
A celebration of life will be held on June 23, 2023, from 6:00 – 9:00 p.m., at Dance Arts Centre in Suwanee, GA.
