Mrs. Katherine Whiddon, age 99, of Winder, Georgia died March 12, 2014 at her residence. She was born in Cassville, Georgia to the late Walter Franklin and Lucy Mae Jenkins Moore. Mrs. Whiddon was the Valedictorian of her class at Cassville High School. Her husband, Mr. Howell Whiddon preceded her in death on April 24, 2005. Mrs. Whiddon had resided in Winder most of her life and was a member of The Winder First United Methodist Church.
A Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 A. M., Saturday, March 15, 2014 from the Chapel of Carter Funeral Home with Rev. Terry Tippens officiating. The Family will receive friends Friday, March 14, 2014 from 4-8 P M. at the funeral home. Interment will be in Barrow Memorial Gardens.
Surviving are Sons and Daughters-in-law, Robert Whiddon of Winder, Frank and Melinda Whiddon of Hoschton, Gary and Tracy Whiddon of Winder, Eight Grandchildren, Thirteen Great Grandchildren, Two Nieces and One Nephew.
