Chief Warrant Officer 3 Louis Morrison Jr., United States Army, Retired, of Winder, the son of Louis and Lilian Morrison, who preceded him in death, passed away February 11, 2023. He was born on May 31, 1931 in Coal Grove, Ohio. He was 91 years young.
He is survived by his wife, Evelyn Morrison, and daughters Kimberly (Isaac) Jones, Heidi (Danny) McCoy and Cynthia Gallamore. Son, Danny Butler, preceded him in death in 2020.He was blessed to be a special part of the lives of 4 of his grandchildren; Mandalyn Andorfer, Ansley (Cory) Tornambe, Michaela Butler and Lily Butler as well as 3 great-grandchildren; Hayden, Adelyn and Kyler.
Mr. Lou, as he was known by many, retired from the Army as a Chief Warrant Officer 3. He also later retired as a Network Manager for Bell South. After his retirement he worked at Winder-Barrow High School for eight years in the clinic. A world traveler, he spoke some of several languages. He was rated fluent in Korean, which he studied at the Army School of Language. Among his assignments were four tours in Korea, one in Japan, Europe and Southeast Asia. He visited most of Central Europe, Africa, the Mid East, Southwest Asia and Australia. His love of travel also carried him to all fifty states, the Caribbean and South America.
The funeral service will be held on Monday, March 6, 2023 at 2:00 PM in the Chapel of Carter Funeral Home with Rev. Jon Boring officiating. Burial with full military honors will follow the service at Rose Hill Cemetery. The family will be receiving friends on Monday, March 6, 2023 from 12:00 PM until the service hour at Carter Funeral Home.
