Mr. Marion Junior Gilley, age 83, of Winder, passed away on Sunday, January 28, 2024.
Mr. Gilley was a member of Fellowship Baptist Church where he served as the videographer. The ones that loved Marion the most describe him as a man’s man, tough as nails, and stubborn as a mule. He enjoyed cooking, traveling, and spending time with his grandchildren. Marion will be best remembered as a loving husband, father, brother, and grandfather.
Mr. Gilley was preceded in death by his parents, William Marion Gilley and Minnie Hall Gilley; daughter, Regina Dickson; and siblings, LQ Gilley, WP Gilley, and Betty Bethune.
Mr. Gilley is survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Alice Dykes Gilley; children, Marla (Homer) Smith and Scott Gilley; grandchildren, Jessica (Jeremy) Duren, Chris (Kristen) Gilley, Natasha (Tim) McCord, Jason (Jeannie) Dickson, and Kenny (Kimberly) Gilley.
The funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM on Friday, February 2, 2024 in the Chapel of Carter Funeral Home with Brother Kevin Page officiating. Burial will follow the service at Collins Hill Baptist Church Cemetery in Lawrenceville. The family will be receiving friends on Friday from 12:00 PM until 2:00 PM prior to the service at Carter Funeral Home.
