Mary Frances Thrasher, passed away peacefully on Saturday, July 25, 2026, at The Landing of Winder.

Funeral Services will be held 11AM, Tuesday, July 28, 2026 at Maddox Memorial Home with Pastor Duke Forster officiating. Interment will follow at Barrow Memorial Gardens.  Visitation will be held Monday evening at the funeral home from 6PM until 8PM. 

Born on June 8, 1934, in Jackson County, Georgia, Mary was the cherished daughter of Joe Henry Holland and Mayzelle Baird Holland, both of whom preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Ernest Thrasher, Jr. 

Mary’s steadfast affection for her family was a guiding light in her life. She was a loving mother to her children: Pam Parker & Steve, Leslie Thrasher & Henrietta. She treasured her time spent with her grandchildren—Graham Parker, Ashley Peppers, Keith Thrasher, and Jason Thrasher—as well as her great-grandchildren, Addison Peppers, Jackson Peppers, Emmersyn Peppers, Emma Thrasher, and Joseph Thrasher. The bonds she nurtured with them were a source of immense pride and joy. Mary is also remembered with affection by her siblings, Charlotte Roberts and Farrice Boyd & Charles. She was predeceased by her beloved son, Rick Thrasher, and by her brother, James Holland.

Mary’s life was one of care, compassion, and joyful spirit, reflected in her many passions and her deep-rooted faith. She was a devoted member of Cedar Creek Baptist Church, where her presence brought comfort and kindness to the congregation. Mary found joy in tending gardens, cultivating beautiful flowers that brightened her home and the lives of those around her. She enjoyed shopping excursions, always with an eye for details and appreciation for beauty, and delighted in friendly games of bingo, adding laughter and camaraderie to her days.

Those who knew Mary speak of her generous heart, her gentle wisdom, and the unwavering love she bestowed on her family. She dearly loved her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, cherishing every moment with them and supporting their hopes and achievements with encouragement and grace.
