Mr. Michael Douglas Vandeford, age 65, of Auburn, passed away on Tuesday, September 5, 2023.
Mr. Vandeford served the United States faithfully in the Marine Corps until he ultimately became a disabled veteran. He retired as a metal roofing contractor. Mike was a devoted family man and will be dearly missed as a loving husband, daddy, and paw paw. He loved big and wholeheartedly. In his spare time, he enjoyed the outdoors and going fishing. Mike was an avid University of Georgia and Atlanta Falcons fan, Go Dawgs!
Mr. Vandeford was preceded in death by his parents, Don Vandeford and Mary Ruth Vandeford; siblings, Craig, Keith, Sherry, and Debbie Vandeford.
Mr. Vandeford is survived by his loving wife of forty-four years, Kathy Vandeford of Auburn; daughters, Cindy (Barry) Jordan of Flowery Branch and Tracy (Dewayne) Moss of Auburn; four grandchildren, Brooklynn (Chad) Teale, Brandon (Emily) Moss, Alaina Jordan, and Deanna Jordan; and two great grandchildren, Allison and Mason Teale.
A graveside service to honor the life of Mr. Mike Vandeford will be held on Friday, September 8, 2023 at 2:00 PM at the Bethabra Baptist Church Cemetery in Hoschton with Pastor Brian Hall officiating. The family will be receiving friends on Friday from 11:00 AM until 1: 45 PM prior to the service at Carter Funeral Home. The family has requested that all attendees wear UGA attire or the colors of red and black in honor of Mr. Vandeford’s love for the University of Georgia.
