Mr. Alan Thomas Willingham

Mr. Alan Thomas Willingham of Winder, Georgia, born Allen Dale Cooper on September 13, 1959, in Augusta, Georgia, passed away peacefully on January 1, 2026. 

Alan was born to the late James Carl Cooper, Jr. and Mary Johnson, and was lovingly adopted by Thomas Earl Willingham and Virginia Estelle Hollifield. Through their care and devotion, Alan grew up surrounded by love, guidance, and a strong sense of family that remained with him throughout his life.

On March 18, 1978, Alan married the love of his life, Barbara Mae Fitzgerald. Their marriage was one of deep commitment and affection, and Barbara preceded him in death. Together, they built a family rooted in love and enduring bonds.

Alan’s greatest joy was his family. He is survived by his only child, Kristin Alicia Barrett, and her husband, Ryan, as well as his cherished grandchildren, Ashlyn, David, and Harrison, who brought immense pride and happiness to his life.

A graveside service will be held at 11:00 AM on Thursday, January 8, 2026 at The Carl Cemetery with Rev. Larry Glover officiating. The family will receive friends at the graveside. 

Alan will be remembered for his kind heart, his caring nature, and the quiet love he shared with those closest to him. His legacy lives on through his family and the many lives touched by his presence. He will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered.
