Obituary

Mr. Anthony "Tony" Joseph Sokol age 86, of Monroe, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, June 23, 2026, surrounded by his family.

Mr. Sokol was a native of Illinois. He retired from AT&T as a planning specialist and also served the United States faithfully in the Marine Corp. He enjoyed watching classic western movies, spending time with his grandchildren and was always the comedian during family gatherings. Tony will be remembered best as a devoted friend, husband, father, and grandfather.

Mr. Sokol was preceded in death by his wife, Pamela Fenwick Sokol; parents, Joseph and Bessie Sokol; and sister, Cheryl Pflock.

He is survived by his children, Brian (Christine) Sokol of Alpharetta, David (Beth) Sokol of Gainesville, and Tracy (Dan) Biga of Statham; seven grandchildren, Madeleine (Andrew) Dallas, Abby Sokol, A.J. Sokol, Will Sokol, Garrett Sokol, Braven Biga, and Brett Biga; and one great-grandchild on the way.

A Visitation will be held in honor of Mr. Sokol on Saturday, August 1st, 2026, from 1:00 P.M. Until 3:00 P.M.

Flowers are accepted for the visitation of Mr. Sokol.

Maddox Memorial Home, Winder, is entrusted with the arrangements.
