Mr. Bobby Gene Day, age 79, of Auburn, passed away peacefully on Sunday, August 30, 2026, surrounded by his family at his residence.

Bobby Gene Day was a loving family man who deeply cared for those around him. He was a member of Church at Pierce Road. Bobby worked as a sheet metal mechanic with Dell Heating and Air from 1973 until his retirement in 2010. He was a hardworking man who took pride in providing for his family.

Bobby was known for his funny and outgoing personality. He loved to laugh and enjoyed being around people. He was an avid outdoorsman that loved being outdoors and was happiest when he was taking care of others. Above all, Bobby loved his family and treasured the time he spent with them. He will be remembered for his kind heart, his laughter, and the love he showed to those around him.

Mr. Day was preceded in death by his parents, Luther Day and Willie Mae Day; and siblings, Linda Day, Doug Day, and Ann Johnson. 

Bobby is survived by his loving wife of 59 years, Faye Peppers Day of Auburn; daughters, Cindy (Troy) Holtzclaw of Auburn and Connie (Jeff) Ashman of Winder; siblings, W.L. Day of Andrews, NC and David Day of Winder; four grandchildren, Blake (Katie) Rowland, Alex Holtzclaw, Kayla (Katrel) Johnson, and Joe (Vanessa) Ashman; and three great-grandchildren, Reagan Rowland, Cash Rowland, and Armani Bledson. 

A memorial service will be held at 4:00 PM on Sunday, September 6, 2026 in the Chapel of Maddox Memorial Home with Pastor Terry Hawkins officiating.  The family will receive friends on Sunday from 1:00 PM until the service hour at Maddox Memorial Home.
