Mr. Herman Brunell Mote, age 84, of Winder, passed away peacefully on Easter Sunday, April 20, 2025, at his residence.
As a skilled residential carpenter, Mr. Mote was known for his exceptional craftsmanship and attention to detail, qualities that earned him respect and admiration in his profession over the years. He had a passion for woodworking, a hobby that brought him joy and fulfillment. Mr. Mote built countless homes in the Barrow County community. A fifty-plus year member of Calvary Baptist Church of Carl, Mr. Mote played an instrumental role in the establishment of the church that he helped build.
He was preceded in death by his son, Eugene Mote; parents, Charlie Levi Mote and Pearl Loggins Mote; and his siblings Joyce Binnion, Quention Mote, Danny Mote, Charlie "Junior" Mote, Edker Mote, Leonard Mote, and Nora Deaton.
Mr. Mote is survived by his devoted wife, Rebecca Ann Ellington Mote of Winder; daughter, Joyce Ann Mote of Winder; son, Barry Wayne Mote of Winder; three grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
The funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM on Thursday, April 24, 2025 in the Chapel of Maddox-Carter Memorial Home with Pastor Doug Swafford and Rev. Larry Youngblood officiating. Burial will follow the service at Barrow Memorial Gardens. The family will be receiving friends on Tuesday, April 22, 2025 and Wednesday, April 23, 2025 from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Maddox-Carter Memorial Home.
Flowers are accepted for the funeral service of Mr. Mote.
