Mr. James Michael "Mike" Everette

1950 — 2026

Bethlehem

Mr. James Michael Everette (aka Mike and / or Pop Pop), age 75 of Bethlehem, entered into eternal rest on Saturday, January 31, 2026, surrounded by his loving family. Mike left an incredible mark on Barrow County and the hearts of everyone who knew him.

Born on May 31, 1950, Mike grew up with a foundation of hard work and integrity. He was preceded in death by his parents, James Otis Everette and Mary Everette, and his sister, Teresa Everette Larson (Jerry).

Early in his career, he joined his father-in-law, Jimmy, and brother-in-law, Ronnie, in the masonry business. He later established his own legacy as the founder of Mike Everette Masonry, where he became known as a true Master Mason. To watch Mike work was to witness a master at his trade; he took extreme pride in every home and project, living by a professional code that earned him a reputation as a diehard professional and a pillar of the community.

Beyond his skill with a trowel, Mike could be described as Loyal, cheerful, determined, dedicated, and governed by a firm set of ethics. He was a mentor and a friend you could always count on.

His memory will be cherished by his devoted wife, Kay Austin Everette; his children, Todd Everette (Lisa and Lucas Hart) and Teri Everette, both of Winder; his sister, Angela Everette Delaney (Chris) of Braselton; and his brother, Chuck Everette of Elberton. He also leaves behind five grandchildren: Haley Everette, Harrison Everette, Sydney Shook, Dawson Ryan, and Hannah Everette; and six great-grandchildren: Eden, Sutton, Sawyer, Sellers, Hudson, and Hattie.

The Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 AM on Thursday, February 5, 2026, in the Chapel of Maddox Memorial Home with Pastor Heath Kennedy and Rev. Ben Parker officiating.
