Mr. Jerry Lee McElhannon

Mr. Jerry Lee McElhannon, age 87, of Bethlehem, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, April 7, 2026, at his residence.

Mr. McElhannon was devoted to his faith. He served as an elder at Church at Winder. He was a graduate of Winder-Barrow High School where he was an active member of the Future Farmers of America association; he served as the chapter treasurer. Jerry was a devoted farmer and spent his career building homes within the community. He will be remembered best as a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather.

Jerry was preceded in death by his wife, Joyce Ann Mobley McElhannon; daughter, Annette Herndon; parents, Richard and Annie Dillard McElhannon; and sister, Joyce Pitts.

He is survived by his son, Tim (Jeanette) McElhannon of Bethlehem; son-in-law, Harold Herndon of Bethlehem; three grandchildren, Weston (Rachel) Herndon, Christopher (Maegan) Herndon, and Annie Grace (Tyler) Boatwright; and two great-grandchildren, Lilly Herndon and Nicholas Herndon.

The funeral service will be held at 4:00 PM on Friday, April 10, 2026 in the Chapel of Maddox Memorial Home with Rev. Steve Ray officiating. Burial will follow the service at Barrow Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends on Friday, April 10, 2026 from 2:00 PM until the service hour at Maddox Memorial Home.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in memory of Mr. McElhannon to Come Alive Ministries-Barrow at 127 W Candler St, Winder, GA 30680.
