Mr. Joel Thomas Taylor, a devoted husband and loving father, passed away on Monday, May 25, 2026, at his residence. 

Born on April 28, 1975, in Miami, Florida, Joel lived a life marked by compassion, service, and a genuine commitment to those around him.

Joel was known for always lending a helping hand and caring deeply about people. His generous spirit was evident in every aspect of his life—whether it was his professional endeavors or personal relationships. A proud veteran, Joel served in the Navy during the Gulf War, demonstrating dedication and patriotism that earned him the respect of many.

Joel enjoyed playing golf, a pastime that allowed him to relax and connect with friends. He had a deep passion for music, especially the powerful sounds of Metallica, which brought a unique rhythm to his days. Above all, Joel’s greatest love was for his family. He was devoted to his wife, Kimberly Elaine Taylor, whose partnership enriched his life profoundly. Joel also shared a special bond with his dogs, whose presence brought him comfort and joy.

His family meant everything to him, and he was always willing to drop everything to be there for the people he cared about. He loved his company and was proud of the service he provided, reflecting his strong work ethic and loyalty.

Joel is survived by his wife, Kimberly Elaine Taylor; his children, Dyvon Hestand, Elbert Thomas Taylor, and Haydon Taylor; his sister, Tisha Berryman & Clark; his brother, Guy Manning; his uncle, James Eddy; and cousins Kim Hanapel and Chad Eddy. He is also survived by four nephews, one niece, and four great nieces and nephews. Joel is also survived by his parents, Thomas Taylor and Elaine Eddy.

A visitation to honor Mr. Taylor’s memory will be held on Saturday, June 6, 2026, from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at Maddox Memorial Home located at 265 Highway 211 NW. This will be followed immediately by a memorial service 11:00 a.m. at Maddox Memorial Home. 

Maddox Memorial Home, Winder, is entrusted with the arrangements.
