Mr. Larry James Carter, age 82, of Winder, passed away on Sunday, September 6, 2026.

Larry was preceded in death by his loving wife, Betty Sue Greeson Carter and his precious daughter, Laurie Beth Carter; parents, Dollie E. Carter and James Crawford Heaton; oldest brother, Thomas William "Bill" Carter; and baby brother, Jimmy Ray Carter.

He is survived by his two sisters, Charlotte Elaine Carter Payne and husband, Larry Payne, and Barbara Carol DeGasperis and her husband, Dave DeGasperis; many nieces and nephews; and no grandchildren.

Larry was known by many and loved by many as well. He was a very kind and helpful person. He was known by many in Winder as he worked for NAPA for over forty years.

Larry also served his country in the United States Navy. He was always fishing or hunting in his spare time.

The funeral service was held at 2:00 PM on Thursday, September 10, 2026 in the Chapel of Maddox Memorial Home with Pastor David Fenley officiating. Burial followed the service at Rose Hill Cemetery. The family received friends on Wednesday, September 9, 2026, from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Maddox Memorial Home.

Flowers were accepted for the funeral service of Mr. Carter.
