Mr. Larry Carlton Stancil

Mr. Larry Carlton Stancil, age 82, of Braselton, passed away peacefully on Sunday, March 23, 2025, at his residence, surrounded by his loving family. 

Mr. Stancil was a pillar of the Hoschton community. He was the owner of Larry's Garage and Wrecker Service for over fifty-five years. Larry helped countless people with their automotive needs. He will be remembered best as a loving husband, father, brother, grandfather, great-grandfather, and father-in-law. Mr. Stancil was a member of Hoschton Church of God of Prophecy. 

Mr. Stancil was preceded in death by his parents; Roy Carlton Stancil and Oree Martin Stancil; siblings, Haynes Stancil, James Stancil, Loyce Ann "Jackie" Motes, and Lawrence Stancil; and grandson, Wesley Paul Stancil.

Mr. Stancil is survived by his loving wife of sixty-two years, Shelby Crowe Stancil of Braselton; children, Chuck (Donna) Caldwell of Jefferson, Tammy (Larry) Sweat of Hoschton, and Larry Paul Stancil of Jefferson; siblings, Louise Longabough of Snellville and Billy (Louise) Stancil of Jefferson; five grandchildren, Kari (Zack) Mathis, Taylor (Jacob) Nix, Sarah (Hunter) Cannon, Destiny (Wyatt) Timms, and Chelsea Rae Stancil; and five great-grandchildren, Emma Jade Mathis, Liam McClane Mathis, Braxton Worley, Breydon Sweat, and Charleigh Jo Sweat.

The funeral service will be held at 3:00 PM on Wednesday, March 26, 2025 in the Chapel of Maddox-Carter Memorial Home with Bishop Jerry Gaddis officiating. Burial will follow the service at Hoschton City Cemetery. The family will be receiving friends on Tuesday, March 25, 2025 from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Maddox-Carter Memorial Home.

Flowers are accepted for the funeral service of Mr. Larry Stancil.
