Mr. Matthew R. Roark

1968 — 2025

Bogart

Mr. Matthew Raleigh Roark, age 57, of Bogart, entered into the presence of his Savior on Monday, August 25, 2025. Matt was a devoted “Husband” to his wife, “Daddy” to his children, and “Babu” to his grandchildren.

Whether gathered around the fire pit, watching the sunrise by the ocean, hiking through the woods, sitting on the deck talking, or patiently strolling through a store, some of Matt’s favorite times were those spent with his family. Those the Lord brought into his life knew they were loved through Matt’s kind words and generous actions. He lifted family and friends to the Lord in prayer as he trusted in His Savior with a simple, child-like faith that was shown through wise counsel and changed lives. While a faithful member of Hope Baptist Church, he poured himself willingly into serving others. He continued that service outside of church through relationships built as a long-time employee of TranSouth Logistics or through consistent business given to restaurants like Fox’s Pizza. However, as Matt would say regularly, his greatest treasure was his family.

Matt was preceded in death by his infant daughter, Mallory Ashton Roark, and parents, Jesse Raleigh Roark and Joanne Mooney Roark.

Matt is survived by his loving wife of thirty years, Toni Cash Roark of Bogart; daughters, Morgan (Tim) Wiggins of Wellford, South Carolina, Micaela (Samuel) Parris of Bogart, and Mariah Roark of Bogart; three grandchildren, Heidi Wiggins, Ian Wiggins, and Levi Parris; sister, Shelia (Kevin) Doughten of Elkton, Maryland; brother, Mark (Joy) Hylton of Nottingham, Pennsylvania; “second mom and dad,” Frances and Bob Blevins of Nottingham, Pennsylvania; mother and father-in-law, Pam and Eddie Cash of Statham; brother-in-law, Scott (Misti) Cash of Bogart; nieces, Jaiden Cash of Bogart, Alma Hylton of Nottingham, Pennsylvania, and Brigitte (Carl) Hollifield of Elkton, Maryland; along with many extended family and friends.

“He never looks for praises. He’s never one to boast.

He just goes on quietly working for those he loves the most....

A firm foundation through all the storms of life.

A sturdy hand to hold in times of stress and strife....

He has the kindest heart of gold, and is the strongest man we know....

He’s our Dad!”
