Mr. Paul Ezekial Taylor, 85, of Auburn, Georgia, passed away peacefully at home on Tuesday, January 27, 2026, after a long and courageous battle with Parkinson’s disease.
Paul was born on June 30, 1940, in Danbury, North Carolina. He lived a life defined by hard work, devotion to family, faith, and a quiet strength that shaped everyone who knew him.
A skilled and dedicated carpenter, Paul spent many years as the owner and operator of Taylor Construction, where his craftsmanship and work ethic were evident in every project he touched. He was also the proud owner of a karate studio, where he taught discipline, respect, and perseverance. Paul was always there to help and guide his family with any projects they had going on at home, especially home repairs—never hesitating to lend his skills, time, or advice. Outside of work, he enjoyed simple pleasures, especially watching his beloved Westerns.
Paul was a devoted and active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. His faith guided his life and was reflected in his kindness, humility, and willingness to serve others.
He was preceded in death by his parents Willard Taylor, and Addie Taylor; daughters, Sarah Taylor and Diane Taylor; son, David Waldrop; siblings, Chester Taylor, James Taylor, Millard Taylor, Eva Hazelwood, and Rachel Wilson.
He is survived by his loving wife of 47 years, Helen Taylor; his children, Scott Taylor, Mark Taylor, Christopher Taylor, Stevie Taylor, Sharon Johnson, and Donald Waldrop; sisters, Daisy Priddy and Josephine Bullins; and many cherished grandchildren and great-grandchildren who were the pride and joy of his life.
The funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, January 30, 2026 in the Chapel of Maddox Memorial Home with Bishop Chris Smither officiating. Burial will follow the service at Barrow Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends on Friday, January 30, 2026 from 10:00 AM until the service hour at Maddox Memorial Home.
Flowers are accepted or memorial donations can be made to the Michael J. Fox Parkinson's Foundation.
