Mr. Robert "Bob" Lewis Stephens

Mr. Robert "Bob" Lewis Stephens, 83, of Auburn, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, May 20, 2026.

Mr. Stephens was a devoted member of Union Grove Baptist Church in Auburn where he faithfully served as a Deacon and Sunday School teacher. Bob was the longtime owner of Bob's Barber Shop in Sandy Springs from 1970 until in 2006. There he made countless friends and an impact on the community. After retirement, Bob began driving for Akins Ford in Winder with over ten years of service.

Bob was also an avid fisherman that loved spending his time on any body of water and in the outdoors. 

Mr. Stephens was preceded in death by his parents, Lewey Eugene Stephens and Fannie Bell Sampson Stephens. 

He is survived by his loving wife fifty-seven years, Gail Wiley Stephens of Auburn; children, Mandy (Norm) Howard of Bethlehem and Brad Stephens of Auburn; grandson, Johnathan Howard of Bethlehem; and sisters, Janice Wofford of Sandy Springs and Pat Hall Conyers; along with a host of nieces and nephews. 

The funeral service will be held at 3:00 PM on Sunday, May 24, 2026, at Union Grove Baptist Church with Pastor Jim Peevy officiating. Burial will follow the service at Union Grove Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Sunday, May 24, 2026 from 2:00 PM until the service hour at Union Grove Baptist Church. 

Flowers are accepted or donations can be made in memory of Mr. Stephens to Union Grove Baptist Church at 4080 Fence Road Auburn, Georgia 30011.
