Mr. Wyatt McClain Ptacek, age 9, of Braselton and Gainesville, Georgia, passed away tragically on Sunday, June 28, 2026.
Born with an infectious smile and a heart full of joy, Wyatt made every day brighter for those around him. His adventurous spirit, kind heart, and loving personality touched the lives of family, friends, classmates, teachers, and everyone fortunate enough to know him. Though his life was far too brief, the memories he created will be cherished forever.
Wyatt was a rising fifth-grade student at Chestnut Mountain Elementary School, where he was loved by his classmates and teachers.
Wyatt loved playing basketball and could often be found with a ball in his hands or cheering on his favorite teams. He also found great joy in fishing, where he treasured spending quiet moments outdoors. At home, Wyatt enjoyed playing ROBLOX and spending countless hours on his PlayStation 5.
More than anything, Wyatt loved being surrounded by his family. His laughter was contagious, his hugs were genuine, and his caring heart made everyone feel special. He had a remarkable way of bringing happiness wherever he went.
He was preceded in death by his grandmother, Kimberly Rakestraw.
Wyatt is survived by his mother and step-father, Jade (Matthew) Parker of Gainesville; father, McClain Ptacek of Braselton; siblings, Avery Parker of Gainesville, Carsyn Wacaster of Gainesville, and Jetson Ptacek of Braselton; grandparents, Robert Frazier, Sr. of Gainesville, Corey (Nicole) McCullough of Gainesville, Mike Ptacek, lovingly known as PawPaw, of Braselton, and Lynn Rich of Hoschton; special aunt, Kaylea King, affectionately known as NiNi of Winder, along with a host of great-grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousins, and extended family.
The funeral service will be held at 4:00 PM on Sunday, July 5, 2026, in the Chapel of Maddox Memorial Home with Pastor Buddy Parker officiating. The family will receive friends on Sunday, July 5, from 2:00 PM until the service hour at Maddox Memorial Home.
Flowers are accepted for the funeral service of Wyatt.
Maddox Memorial Home, Winder, is entrusted with the arrangements.
