Mrs. Amy Dunahoo Weathers

Mrs. Amy Sue Dunahoo Weathers, age 76, of Winder, passed away peacefully on Saturday, May 30, 2026, at The Gardens of Gainesville.

Mrs. Weathers truly devoted her life to serving others. She retired as a Licensed Practical Nurse from the Barrow County Health Department. Throughout her career, she also served as a LPN for Dr. Souther and Dr. Huff's medical practices and was the plant nurse for Harrison Poultry for numerous years. Amy loved spending her time outside and gardening. She will be remembered best as a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.

Amy was preceded in death by her husband, Clifton Oliver "Jimmy" Weathers; son, Todd Weathers; parents, Joseph Allen Dunahoo and Evelyn Sue Chapman; and grandchild, Jackson Weathers.

Mrs. Weathers is survived by her daughters, Mendy Church of Winder and Kim (Jarrett) Kiesel of Flowery Branch; siblings, Karen O'Shields of Surf Side Beach, FL, Tami Sellers Howell of Easley, SC, and Jeff Sellers of FL; five grandchildren, Joseph Church, Brandon Church, Connor Kiesel, Vincent Kiesel, and William Kiesel; and one great-grandchild, Blakely Church.

A celebration of life service will be held at 6:30 PM on Thursday, June 11, 2026 in the Chapel of Maddox Memorial Home with Pastor Donnie Pennington officiating. The family will receive friends on Thursday, June 11, from 4:30 PM until the service hour at Maddox Memorial Home. A private burial will be held at Barrow Memorial Gardens. 

The family respectfully request, in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the Polycystic Kidney Foundation.
