Mrs. Betty Timms Capes, age 80, of Hoschton, passed away peacefully on Sunday, July 12, 2026, at Magnolia Manor in Midway, Georgia.

Mrs. Capes was a devoted homemaker throughout her life. She was a member of White Plains Baptist Church. 

She was preceded in death by her husband, James Randolph Capes; parents, R.A. Timms and Viola Cleveland Timms; and sister, Rachel Taylor. 

Betty is survived by her siblings, Frances Brock, Jack Timms, and John Timms; along with a host of nieces, nephews, and extended family. 

A graveside service will be held at 2:00 PM on Wednesday, July 15, 2026 at Chapel Christian Church Cemetery.

The family of Mrs. Capes wishes to extend their heartfelt appreciation to the nurses and staff of Magnolia Manor of Midway, Georgia for the loving and exceptional care that they provided to Betty. 

Maddox Memorial Home, Winder, is entrusted with the arrangements.
