Mrs. Carolyn "Sue" Poindexter

Mrs. Carolyn Sue Poindexter, age 74, of Winder, passed away peacefully on Sunday, March 16, 2025, surrounded by her family.

Sue was a devoted wife, loving mother, and an amazing grandmother. She truly dedicated her life to caring for her family.

Mrs. Poindexter was preceded in death by her parents; Vencil Prewitt and Hazel Lewis Prewitt; and siblings, Dean Prewitt, Dale Prewitt, Gladys Clevenger, and Laura Manuel.

Mrs. Poindexter is survived by her beloved husband of forty-seven years; Jackie L. Poindexter of Winder; daughter, Jessica (J.J.) Garrett of Auburn; grandchildren, Brooklyn Garrett and Morgan Garrett both of Auburn; brothers, Charles Prewitt of Hillsboro, KY, Billy (Donna) Prewitt, Mosie Prewitt, and David (Kathy) Prewitt all of Sandy Hook, KY; sisters, Lillian Clevenger of GA, Mary (Jack) Howard of Morehead, KY, Linda (Ray) Massingille of IN, and Pam Gutierrez of IN.

The funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM on Friday, March 21, 2025 in the Chapel of Maddox-Carter Memorial Home with Pastor Jimmy Carver officiating. Burial will follow the service at Hoschton City Cemetery. The family will be receiving friends on Thursday, March 20, 2025 from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Maddox-Carter Memorial Home.

The family respectfully request in lieu of flowers, donations be made in her memory to The Tree House, Inc Winder, GA.
