Mrs. Charlie Jo Lee Watson, age 93, of Winder, passed away peacefully on Saturday, April 12, 2025, at Mulberry Grove Assisted Living, leaving behind a legacy of love, laughter, and unwavering devotion to her family, friends, and her Savior.
Charlie Jo had a sweet tooth for Little Debbies and a fondness for Sprite—simple joys that brought a sparkle to her day. But what brought her the most joy was her family. She was immensely proud of her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren—always eager to share their stories and show off photos to anyone who would listen. Her home was filled with pictures, each one a visible reminder of the people she loved most.
More than anything, Charlie Jo loved Jesus. Her faith was the cornerstone of her life, and she lived it out with grace, warmth, and an open heart. She never missed an opportunity to share that love with others—through her words, her actions, and the way she treated everyone she met. To know her was to feel encouraged, prayed for, and deeply loved. She was a member of Winder First United Methodist Church where she served the Lord wholeheartedly.
Charlie Jo was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Blanche Lee; and her brothers, Hoyt Lee, and Erastus Lee. She was also preceded in death by her loving husband, Gerald Watson; her youngest child and only son, David Watson; her son-in-law, Bill Parks; and her dear friend, James Hardigree.
She is survived by her daughters, Marshia Hunter (Sammy) and Wendy Parks, as well as her daughter-in-law, Merry Watson. Her legacy continues through her grandchildren: Dana House (Michael), Gabe Hunter (Laurie), Anna Humble (John), Parker Watson (Ashley), Emily Watson, Amanda Finn (Alan), and Valerie Weed (Flint); and her 13 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her nephew, Ray Lee (Teresa) and her dear sister-in-law, Lucy Watson.
A loyal friend, loving matriarch, and faithful follower of Christ, Charlie Jo’s life was a testimony to kindness, strength, and joyful service. Her warmth, wisdom, and unwavering faith will be deeply missed, but her legacy lives on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.
