Mrs. Claudia Avalos Schroeder, age 80, of Winder, passed away peacefully on Sunday, April 5, 2026, at her residence.
Mrs. Schroeder was devoted to her faith; she was a member of Barrow Global Methodist Church. Claudia was very mission oriented. She served the lord in various ways in the community by crocheting Jesus blankets for friends and neighbors and was part of the local jail ministry. She loved telling people about her faith in the Lord Jesus Christ.
Claudia was employed until her passing as an administrative assistant at St. Mary's Healthcare and Hospice. She was known for her great sense of humor and incredible cooking. She will be remembered best as a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend.
Mrs. Schroder was preceded in death by her husband, John Francis Schroeder; parents, Louis Avalos and Lucille Swanson Avalos; and siblings, Paula Corricelli, Douglas Avalos, Louie Avalos, Phillip Avalos, Loretta Almand, and Linda Avalos.
She is survived by her children, Rachael (Ron) Fain of Kennesaw, Raymond Biondi of Atlanta, and Kirk (Lindsay Owings) Biondi of Cumming; siblings, Sylvia Duvall, Teresa Valle, and Anita Estes; seven grandchildren, Hannah Ruth Fain, Matthew (Emma Rose) Fain, Andrew Fain, Imogene (Stephen) Boyd, Ethan Biondi, Sophia Biondi, and Lucy Biondi; and three great-grandchildren, Iris Cooke, Levi Cooke, and Elias Boyd.
The funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM on Saturday, April 11, 2026 in the Chapel of Maddox Memorial Home with Rev. Dave Hinson officiating. A private burial will follow the service at Calvary Baptist Church Cemetery in Statham. The family will receive friends on Friday, April 10, 2026 from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Maddox Memorial Home.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Global Methodist.
