Mrs. Eleanor Taylor Wilson

Mrs. Eleanor Taylor Wilson, 93, of Winder, went peacefully home to be with her Lord and Savior on Sunday, February 1, 2026, at her residence. 

Mrs. Wilson is preceded in death by her parents, Rev. Bunyan Taylor and Elnora Stancil Taylor, her brother Charles Taylor, his wife Edith Hogan Taylor, Brother Bill Taylor. Baby Patricia Ellen Skelton and a small extended family.

She is survived by son Randy (Denise) Skelton, daughter Sandra Skelton, 4 grandchildren Brad (Kelly) Skelton, Amanda (Earl) Lively, Ashleigh (Eric) McCullogh, Josh (Sonia) Skelton, Niece Barbara Taylor Scroggs, Heather Taylor Cloud, Cousin Miriam Moncrief, sitter Dessie Burton, special friends Jennell Hutchins, Carolyn Gresham, Julianna Carnithan, Carol Hall and Claudine Tanner. Sister-in-law Judy Ledbetter Taylor.

She held many jobs throughout her life; her favorite was with Redstone Grocery, which was with Tom Plank and Aaron McKinny, which later became a diner with W M and Gail Whitfield. In her later years, she became a sitter with the elderly. A job close to her heart. She sat with many patients. Always loved them and was a dedicated sitter to all. She was an active member of Galilee Christian Church, where she found great joy in helping prepare and serve the Wednesday evening meals.

The family is deeply grateful to “our” Family Hospice Team for their tender care and compassion that they showed Mrs. Wilson and the family during her final days.

The funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM on Wednesday, February 4, 2026, in the Chapel of Maddox Memorial Home with Pastor Nick Vipperman officiating. Burial will follow the service at White Plains Baptist Church Cemetery, Jefferson. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, February 4, 2026, from 1:00 PM until the service hour at Maddox Memorial Home.

Flowers are accepted for the Funeral Service.
