Mrs. Jacquelyne Crater Wells

Mrs. Jacquelyne “Jackie” Marie Wells, beloved wife of Michael Wells, age 73 of Winder, passed away at her residence, on Thursday, March 12, 2026, after a massive stroke and long battle with cancer. 

Born on July 15th, 1952, in Grand Rapids, Michigan, Jackie was the daughter of Richard Earl Crater and Dorothy Mackey. Jackie attended Grand Rapids High School and later moved to California where she worked for Ketema as the Computer Operations Manager. Jackie later moved to Georgia where she worked as an antique dealer. 39.5 years ago, Jackie met Michael at an Irish Pub in San Diego. What started as an invitation from Jackie to play pool led to a lifetime of marital bliss. Michael says, “we gained each other and I was blessed to also gain a 16-year-old daughter.”

Jackie’s life was a beautiful reflection of love, strength, and quiet grace. She had a great love for babies and children. Even through her illness, she carried herself with remarkable courage and grace. Jackie’s light will never fade as her love lives on in the hearts of her family, the lives of those she touched, and in the quiet strength she passed on to all who knew her.

Jackie is survived by her loving husband, Michael of Winder, daughter, Jennifer Hanna of California, and five grandchildren, Alex, David, Vincent, Nathalia, and Anthony. She is also survived by her sister, Diana Nettersheim, brother, Richard Crater, and many more extended family and friends.

Jackie is preceded in death by her parents, Richard Earl Crater and Dorothy Mackey, and sister, Patti Buirge.

No services will be held at this time. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial donations be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital or Shriner’s Hospital.
