Her greatest joy in life came from her family. As a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, she devoted herself wholeheartedly to those she loved.
A committed member of Cedar Creek Baptist Church, Kathryn's faith was a guiding force in her life. Her love for children radiated through her involvement in the church community, where she could often be found supporting and uplifting the youngest members.

Her family legacy continues through her three sons: Lonie G. "Bo" (Traci) Pounds, Jr., Christopher “Curtis” (Shannon) Pounds, and James N. (Angelia) Pounds, all of whom carry forward her values and compassion. Kathy took immense pride in her grandchildren: Kathryn N. Black, Zachary B. Pounds, Christopher C. Pounds, Jr., Jordan A. Pounds, Kayla E. Pounds, Bailey Pounds, and Sarah-Grace S. Pounds Smith, and Brantley Z. Pounds, and great-grandchildren, Ali Grace, Payton, Colton, Ella, Sawyer, Kitt, and three great-grandchildren on the way. Each of their achievements brought her immeasurable happiness, and she loved them unconditionally.
