Mrs. Marian Henrietta London McLemore

Mrs. Marian Henrietta London McLemore, known lovingly as Henrietta, Mom, Momma, Granny, GrannyMa, and G-Ma, passed away peacefully on Friday, January 16, 2026, at her home in Auburn, Georgia, at the age of 91.

Born on August 29, 1934, in Habersham County, Georgia, Henrietta was the cherished only child of John Henry London and Allie Maurine Freeman London. In 1955, she met and married the love of her life, Don McLemore, beginning a remarkable partnership that would span just over 70 years of love, devotion, and unwavering commitment to one another. Together, they built a life centered on family, faith, and love. After calling several places home throughout their lives, they settled in Auburn, Georgia in 1988, where they would remain for nearly four decades.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her beloved husband, Don McLemore. 

Henrietta is survived by her children, Cindy Vance and Johnny McLemore; her grandchildren, Katie Vance (Jon Wilson) and Ethan Vance (Amber); three precious great-grandchildren—Ethan, Byron, and Jack; and special family members.

A devoted wife, mother, and faithful church member, Henrietta was a woman of many passions. She and Don shared a love of travel, exploring the open road together throughout their marriage. At home, she enjoyed spending time with family, reading, coloring, and working word search puzzles to keep her mind sharp. In her earlier days she was an experienced seamstress and her attention to detail remained unmatched even in her 90s. Those who knew her well could always count on her dry sense of humor and quick wit.

Henrietta was a longtime and active member of Midway United Methodist Church in Auburn, where she served faithfully in many capacities. Alongside Don, she served both their church and their Savior with loving hearts and open arms, becoming beloved members of their church family. 

The family wishes to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the friends, neighbors, and family who have come together to support them and to celebrate the life of a very special and loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend. Henrietta’s unconditional love, warmth, and devotion will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.

A celebration of her life will be held at Midway United Methodist Church in Auburn, Georgia, on Saturday, February 7, 2026, at 11:00 a.m., with Rev. Debbie Carlton and Dr. Robert Hoffman officiating. A reception will follow in the Fellowship Hall.
