Mrs. Peggy Alexander Haley

Mrs. Peggy Alexander Haley, age 99, of Winder, passed away peacefully on Friday, April 24, 2025.

Mrs. Haley moved from Charlotte, North Carolina to Winder, Georgia in 1960. She graduated from Queens College with an associate’s degree and worked several years as a secretary. She volunteered as a Grey Lady at the Winder hospital and served as a Brownie Girl Scout leader for several years. She was a devoted homemaker throughout her life and was well known for working at The Boutique of Holly Hill Mall. Peggy also enjoyed playing bridge with friends and spending time with family. Mrs. Haley was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Winder. She will be remembered best as a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. 

Peggy was preceded in death by her husband, William "Bill" Johnson Haley; and parents, William Henry Alexander and Maude Alexander.

She is survived by her daughters, Patti (David) Dillard of Dawsonville and Pam (Jeff) Martin of Winder; four grandchildren, Katie Dillard of Roswell, Haley (Jason) Harrison of Loganville, Addison (Emily) Dillard of Milton, and Kerrigan Belk of Ila; and six great-grandchildren, Hawkins Harrison, Stella Harrison, Cash Belk, Jackson Dillard, Brinlee Belk, and Charlie Dillard.

The funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM on Monday, April 27, 2026 in the Chapel of Maddox Memorial Home. Burial will follow the service at Rose Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Monday, April 27, from 12:00 PM until the service hour at Maddox Memorial Home.
