Mrs. Sheila Yount Edwards

Mrs. Sheila Yount Edwards, age 78, of Winder, peacefully passed away on August 8, 2025, leaving behind a legacy of love, compassion, and unwavering strength. She was born on October 15, 1946. 

Throughout her life, she was known as a true people person. Sheila was an avid gardener, finding joy in working with the soil and nurturing beautiful flowers. Her green thumb created beautiful flower gardens for her family and friends to enjoy. Additionally, she found great pleasure in reading and spending time at the beach, where she loved embracing the sun.

Sheila was preceded in death by her husband, Robert "Bob" Norton, as well as her parents, John C. Yount and Una Lee Roberts.

Sheila is survived by her sons, Steven Michael Bush of Jacksonville and Rickey (Janis) Bush of Leesburg, as well as her daughter, Deanna (Ricky) Shoemake of Winder; her cherished grandchildren: Peyton (Brandon) Phelps of Cairo, Brittany Bush of Tifton, Hunter Bush of Leesburg, Mark Shoemake of Winder, and Megan (Jake) Graham of Winder; and her great-grandchildren: Brayden Phelps, Bowen Phelps, Ava Davis, Trey Graham, and Maelynn Graham.

A graveside service will be held at 12:30 PM on Tuesday, August 12, 2025 at Barrow Memorial Gardens with Rev. John Burchfield officiating. The family will be receiving friends on Tuesday, August 12, 2025, from 10:00 AM until 12:00 PM at Maddox-Carter Memorial Home.

Flowers are accepted for the graveside service of Mrs. Edwards due to her profound love for flowers.
