Mrs. Veta Brown Weatherford

Mrs. Veta Brown Weatherford, age 77, of Winder, passed away peacefully at her residence on July 6, 2025.

Born on May 30, 1948, Veta dedicated her life to the education of children and adults with special needs, leaving an indelible mark on the lives of many she taught and cared for throughout her career.

Veta was deeply devoted to her children and grandchildren, embodying a warmth and love that resonated with all who knew her. 

She is survived by her two sons, Waylon (Tammy) Weatherford and Marty Weatherford, both of Winder; grandchildren: MacKenzie Weatherford of Statesboro, Sarah Grace (Jake) Martinez, Savannah Ellen Weatherford, Hudson Weatherford, and Macie Weatherford all of Winder; sister, Melanie Bays of Bethlehem, and her brother, Bill Brown of Conyers, who will surely miss her gentle spirit and unwavering kindness.

Veta was predeceased by her husband, Bobby Weatherford, and her parents, Bill Brown and Rubye Austin Harbin.

Per the request of Mrs. Veta, no formal services will be held. She will be laid to rest next to her husband at Union Baptist Church Cemetery, Winder.

Maddox-Carter Memorial Home, Winder, is entrusted with the arrangements.
