Mrs. Virginia Dorothy Hutchison, age 89, of Monroe, passed away peacefully on Thursday, May 7, 2026, surrounded by her loving family.

Mrs. Hutchison was a member of the Winder First United Methodist Church. She was proud to be the military wife to her husband, Paul B. Hutchsion, Jr. Together they traveled the world and experienced life together. Virginia had the ability to light up a room with her presence and was able to make anywhere she was at in the world a home. She will be remembered best as a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.

She was preceded in death by her daughter, Alicia Annette Thomas; parents, Charles William Davis and Dora Sexton Davis; and her siblings, Elsie Maye Magyar, Jack Willard Davis, and James Davis. 

Virginia is survived by her devoted husband of sixty-eight years, Paul Buren Hutchison, Jr. of Monroe; son, Paul Buren Hutchison III of Monroe; seven grandchildren, Michael Bailey (Aubrey Gean III) James of Winder, Peyton Riley Hutchison of Atlanta, Paul Buren Hutchison IV of Atlanta, Alexandra Angelina Hutchison of Athens, Sydney Blair Thomas of Blacksburg, VA, Emma Grace Thomas of Blacksburg, VA, and Caitlin McCormick Thomas of Pacific Grove, CA; and two great-grandchildren, Aubrey Gean James IV of Winder and Ava Josephine James of Winder.

A memorial service will be held at Winder First United Methodist Church. Maddox Memorial Home will announce the date and time of the service when the arrangements are finalized. 

Maddox Memorial Home, Winder, is entrusted with the arrangements.
