Ms. Clara Belle Lee Cates

Ms. Clara Belle Lee Cates, age 89, of Auburn, formerly of Moultrie, passed away peacefully on Monday, April 27, 2026, at her daughter's residence. 

Clara attended school at Moultrie School and Valdosta State College. She was employed with Cranford Jewelry and Colquitt County Regional Hospital in Human Resources. She attended First Baptist Church of Moultrie. Clara enjoyed being with family and friends any chance she could. 

Ms. Cates was preceded in death by her parents, W.J. and Deloria "Bill" Allegood Lee; son, Ed Cates; and grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Charlie Allegood and Mr. and Mrs. James Lee; and her brother, Donn Lee. 

She is survived by her daughter, Charlotte Cates of Auburn; siblings, Regena Pevy of Jacksonville, Fl; Garry (Jackie) Lee, Sharon (Danny) Hortman, and Susan (Jeff) Hardin of Albany, GA; along with several nieces and nephews. 

A private memorial service will be held at a later date. 

Maddox Memorial Home, Winder, is entrusted with the arrangements.
