Ms. Dorothy Florence Gerrish, age 91, of Winder entered into the presence of the Lord on Wednesday, June 10th, 2026, peacefully at her residence.

Ms. Gerrish was a devoted member of Calvary Baptist Church of Statham. She was saved at the age of 89, being baptized one week later. She retired from American Optical as a lens polisher after many years of dedicated service.

Dorothy loved and had a special talent for decorating her home, creating a warm and welcoming place filled with beauty, comfort, and love. She was known for her very rich personally, treating everyone like gold. Ms. Dorothy was also known as a wonderful cook, doing everything with love. She was known for her giving spirit and found great joy in being around people.

She was preceded in death by her son, Joseph Burrelli; grandchildren, Samanatha Smith, and Jason Burrelli; sister, Beatrice DiPoalo; ; and parents, Omar Larouche and Florence Mallette.

She is survived by his daughters, Mary Debra Casterline, of Winder; Gail Frances Smith, of South Bridge, MA; June Marie Fontaine (James), of South Bridge, MA; six grandchildren, Christopher Lamoureux, Heather Morgan, Monica Miles, Taylor Fontaine, Jamie Vargas, and Tori Fontane; and, brother-in-law, John Dipoalo “Chuck,” TN

A funeral service we be held at 2:00 PM on Tuesday, June, 16th, 2026 in the Chapel of Maddox Memorial Home, with Rev. Matt Dibler officiating. Prior to services, a visitation will be held from 12:00-2:00 PM at Maddox Memorial Home.

Per the request of Ms. Gerrish, she will be cremated after services have been concluded.

Flowers are accepted for the service of Ms. Gerrish.

Maddox Memorial Home, Winder, is entrusted with arrangements.
