Ms. Teresa Gail Mayo, age 60, of Winder, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, July 29, 2026.

Following her stroke in 2024, she became known by many as a true warrior. She faced each challenge with remarkable courage, determination, and grace. Her perseverance became a testament to the incredible strength she carried throughout her life. Teresa possessed one of the biggest hearts imaginable: generous, compassionate, and always willing to help others

She had a deep love for music and dancing. Teresa's vibrant personality had a way of lighting up every room she entered.

Teresa was preceded in death by her parents, Jesse Calvin Ledford Jr. and Carolyn Ann Townsend; and siblings, Teresa Ann Ledford and Jesse Calvin Ledford III.

She is survived by her children, Tasha D. Mayo and Joshua A. Mayo; siblings, Deborah L. Atha and John W. Ledford; grandchildren, Kinadee P. Willard and Konnor P. Willard; special niece, Christina Hendrix; great-niece, Landree Hendrix; along with a host of nieces, nephews, and extended family,

The funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, August 1, 2026 in the Chapel of Maddox Memorial Home. Following the funeral service, Ms. Mayo will be cremated. The family will receive friends on Saturday, from 10:00 AM until the service hour at the funeral home.

Flowers are accepted for the funeral service of Ms. Mayo.
