Mr. Ray Bates, age 79, of Hoschton, Georgia died March 28, 2012. A Native of Clermont, Georgia, he was a son of the late Marion and Gladys Harkins Bates. He was preceded by his Wife, Viola Summers Bates. Mr. Bates was a U. S. Army Veteran and a member of Concord Baptist Church in Clermont. He was a retired diesel mechanic with Blalock Transport.
Surviving are Wife, Mildred Bates of Hoschton, Son, Rodney Bates of Lawrenceville, Daughter, Brenda Thomason of Maysville, Five Grandchildren, Two Great Grandchildren and Brother, Donald Bates of Cleveland.
A Funeral Service will be held at 2:00 P. M., Friday, March 30, 2012 from the Chapel of Carter Funeral Home with Rev. Gary Pittman officiating. Interment will be in Walnut Fork Baptist Church Cemetery. The Family will receive friends Thursday, March 29, 2012 from 5-8 P. M. at the funeral home.
