Richard E. "Ricky" Simmons

Mr. Richard E. "Ricky" Simmons, age 63, of Winder, Georgia passed away August 27, 2014 in Goose Creek, South Carolina. A Native of Statesboro, Georgia, he was a Son of the late Virgil and Sara Helen Lee Simmons. He received an under graduate degree in Psychology from the University of Georgia and later received a Master's Degree in Electrical Engineering from Georgia Tech. In 1989 he founded Simmon's Industrial Electronics, serving the Southeastern United States, providing automated controls for the Ready Mixed Concrete Industry.
Surviving are Wife, Nancy S. Simmons of Winder, Georgia, Children, Sara Virginia Simmons of Atlanta, Georgia and Rikki Lyn Simmons of Savannah, Georgia, Brother, Randy Simmons of Statesboro, Georgia and Sister, Pat Ray of Lake Toxaway, North Carolina.
The Family will receive visitors Sunday, August 31, 2014 from 4-6 P. M. at the funeral home. A private service will be held at a later date. Memorials may be made to The Schnauzer Love Rescue, 1356 Stonecrest Drive, Birmingham, Alabama 35235.
