Mrs. Ruby Dean Youngblood, age 76, of Winder, passed away peacefully on Thursday, September 8, 2022 at her residence surrounded by her family.
Mrs. Youngblood was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and friend. She was fun, the life of the party, and Elvis’ biggest fan. She loved to dance and could tear up a dance floor. She was competitive, an incredible athlete, and a hometown high school basketball star. She was tough, fearless, protective, and never backed down from anything. Yet, so gentle, compassionate, generous, and kind. Her voice could be heard over every crowd cheering her kids and grandkids on. She made it known that she was their biggest fan and proud of them. She loved with all her heart and without conditions. If you met her, you would never forget her. She was one of a kind, beautiful ginger, fiery and sassy as they come. There will never be another one like her.
Mrs. Youngblood is preceded in death by her parents; Floyd Smith, Edna Louise Youngblood and Lawrence Youngblood; sister, Patsy Greenway; and grandchild, Gabe Youngblood.
Mrs. Youngblood is survived by her devoted husband of 56 years; Cecil Youngblood of Winder; children, Dennis (Betsy) Youngblood of Hoschton, David (Mary Ann) Youngblood of Buford, and Donna (Chris) Pickens of Pendergrass; and six grandchildren, Taylor Youngblood, Seth Pickens, Garrison Pickens, Madelyn Youngblood, Caroline Youngblood, and Amelia Youngblood.
A celebration of life service will be held on Saturday, September 24, 2022 at 2:00 PM in the Chapel of Carter Funeral Home with Pastor Taylor Youngblood officiating. The family will be receiving friends on Saturday from 12:00 PM until 2:00 PM prior to the service at Carter Funeral Home.
