William McKinley Cable, Sr.

William McKinley Cable, Sr., 81, passed away Saturday, October 3 2026, at Brown Health and Rehab in Royston.

Services will be announced at a later date.

Mr. Cable was born on November 4, 1944, in Pikeville, Kentucky, to the late Charles Edward Cable and Dorothy Cable. His favorite pastimes included fishing and hunting. Mr. Cable also played in a softball league and a bowling league.

He is survived by his wife, Thelma Cable; children, Karen Blankineship & Rodney, Darlene D. Cable, Angel Wilson & Scott, Dorothy Helton, Lora Snow & Bernie, and William Cable, Jr.; step-children, Christine Crabtree, William Crabtree, Danny McElhannon and Elvis McElhannon; siblings, Madelene Stephens & Alan, Johnny Cable & Tina, Charlie Cable & Lynn, Frank Cable, Audrey Cyrus, Robert Cable & Janet, and Mattie Culver; many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren also survive. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his first wife, Dorothy Cable; his stepson, Joseph Crabtree; and his sisters, Mamie Johnson, Ellen Norman, and Mary Brown.
